RHEDESIUM is the new title for the old publication called Journal of the Rennes Alchemist.

RHEDESIUM hopes to disseminate new areas of research within the Rennes-le-Chateau mystery and the life of Berenger Saunière.It has long been recognised by researchers into the affair of Rennes-le-Château that Rennes-le-Chateau itself constitutes a door into the wider mysteries. And while the Rhedesium seeks to disseminate high standards of research into the history and archaeology of the Rennes Affair we also recognise that there exists a much ‘bigger picture' to be discerned. There are vast unexplored areas of this all encompassing mystery, and with this Journal we would like to see new ideas and ways of ‘looking' at the mystery, hitherto not researched in depth, or which have even been overlooked. We aim to provoke serious intellectual discussion and academic debate of the Rennes Affair and this ‘bigger picture'. A main part of the Journal will discuss the recent findings of certain artefacts in and around the Rennes-le-Chateau area and discussion of the imminent release of the film 'Bloodline - Inside the Priory of Sion'

We will be helped in this endeavour by the French society called CERCLE ST DAGOBERT which promises to be a great resource for researchers. After all there should be French assistance in our aims, considering the affair began ‘popularly' with a French priest. The editor is also affiliated with the following groups: ' the Society of Arts and Sciences of Carcassonne', 'the Society for the Study of the Crusades and the Latin East', the 'Rennes –Le-Château - Research Group' as well as of course, Cercle St Dagobert. The editor is a graduate of Archaeology and has excavated in England, Israel and France. Current studies include post graduate studies in Medieval Studies & Archaeology.

Rhedesium is open to all who are interested in the subject area. The Journal is currently available three times a year, and will be available to buy as each issue is published. There will be no subscription service. The first issue will be out soon, and details on purchasing it will appear here.
